Client Event – Kathy Brown’s Garden, 12 June 2017

Last night we held our annual client event at Kathy Brown’s Manor House Garden in Stevington, near Bedford. Fortunately the weather was kind to us and whilst we had a marquee on hand to keep us all dry, we did not really need it. 48 clients attended and with the help of our own team, including Nicola, Nick and Amy, everyone enjoyed a wonderful summer evening in a truly beautiful and inspiring place.

On arrival, there were drinks and canapes. Kathy then did a short introduction, which was very interesting and demonstrated her incredible knowledge. This was followed by guided tours of the four and half acre garden for small groups of clients. Others choose to wander around the gardens under their own steam, amazed that the garden is almost entirely looked after by Kathy and her husband Simon.

The garden is incredible. It has many different areas of interest including a formal garden, cottage garden, wisteria and laburnum walk, herbaceous and peony borders,  climbing rose displays, a wild flower meadow, exuberant container garden displays, a prolific orchard, art gardens and a dedicated edible flower border.

Following the tours, there was tea, coffee and cake, with edible flowers from the garden featuring heavily on the menu. Kathy also invited guests to look at her books, Painting with Nature, Edible Flowers and Container Gardening, as well as a series of cards showing various garden scenes and floral cake recipe cards too.

All in all it was a fantastic occasion. We thoroughly recommend a visit to Kathy Brown’s Manor House Garden to anyone who is interested in gardening. The pictures below show the garden in its full glory.
