Emma K is our Business Manager and takes responsibility for the running of our office.
Your role – how did that happen?
I joined the company in a completely different capacity and quickly realised the role was not for me. But due to the size of the business my skills were able to be transferred to another area. These skills have developed over the years and brought me to the role I have now, as Business Manager!
What drew you to JSFPL?
Having worked in corporate environments since leaving college, the ideal role for me was with a small firm, where I had a voice. Initially I had ruled JSFPL out, as on turning up for the interview, the commute was about 20 mins more than expected, however the lure of the office environment, friendly faces and family feel to the business sucked me in.
What keeps you smiling at work every day?
The awesome team that surrounds me.
What are you saving for?
Lots of things: separate pots for retirement, helping my son in later life, Christmas, holidays and the ultimate goal ¬– house extension.
When you’re not at JSFPL, what keeps you busy?
My husband, a small circle of great friends, and acting as taxi for my young son and his many sporting activities!
If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Enjoy yourself, whatever your age, in whatever you do. It’s so true that life is short and we only get one go at it!
What goals are you working towards now?
Personally, it is about time I sorted out a ‘proper’ healthy living lifestyle – I’m not bad, I’m just that good either! Work wise, I am in the first two years of my current role and envisage it taking that time again to really have a grip on exactly what I am doing, what’s expected of me, and ways I can exceed the expectations of myself and the business.
