Spotlight on Hannah, our Technical Assistant

We’re proud of the team we have here at Jane Smith Financial Planning. Each member is a shining example of our core values and brings their own unique light to the table. Of course, if you’re a client you may already know many of the friendly faces who work here, but even so we would love for you to get to know them a little better!

So, we asked Hannah Love, our Technical Assistant, to step into the spotlight and answer some questions. Hannah joined us in September 2018 as a Technical Assistant. She works alongside Clare and Amy M, supporting Nicola with the technical aspects of financial planning.

Hi Hannah! Lovely to sit down with you for a chat. Shall we start with your role – how did it happen, what brought you to this point?

Oo yes. Well, I have worked as an administrator in Financial Services ever since leaving school after my A Levels. As I got more knowledgeable, I began working more on technical aspects rather than administration and discovered to my surprise that I enjoyed the technical side so much more. Fast forward eight years, and here I am!

Sometimes it’s the skills you least expect that you actually enjoy the most. What drew you to Jane Smith Financial Planning, then?

Having an office dog! Haha. I’m joking… sort of ????

When I saw the job advertised, I wasn’t actively looking for a new role. I was pretty content where I was. But after reading the job description and about the company I just knew that it was where I wanted to work.

Crazy how things work out like that, isn’t it? So, has it met your expectations? What keeps you smiling every day?

Oh absolutely. The team is what keeps me smiling every single day. We all get on so well and have such a good bond.

You can’t teach or train a bond, that only happens naturally and it’s 100% the hallmark of a great team.
Let’s talk a bit about life outside of work. What else keeps you busy?

Well, usually socialising with my friends by going out for dinner. Besides that, spending time with my boyfriend and Trafford, our Rottweiler, or exercising when I have the motivation.

And what are you saving for?

My boyfriend is currently in the process of building our house, so I am saving to buy all the furniture and everything I want for inside – when I am not buying new clothes that is ????

That’s so exciting! We can’t wait to hear all about the finished product.
Hannah, if you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Don’t fret about not knowing what you want to do in life when everybody else around you seem to have it planned out. Everything works out how it’s meant to!

Very wise words. And finally, to wrap up, what’s next? What goals are you working towards at the moment?

The next hurdle for me is completing the Paraplanning apprenticeship to become a fully qualified Technical Specialist. And beyond that, we’ll see!

Thank you for your time Hannah, it was a pleasure to chat and allow our clients to get to know you better.
