Spotlight on Jade, our Trainee Client Services Administrator

Here at Jane Smith Financial Planning we really pride ourselves on providing a work environment that is not only supportive and enjoyable to come to every day but also actively encourages training and career development in a transparent and structured way. We were thrilled to welcome Jade into our Trainee role back in January – she’s started out with a bang, already having been nominated for a ‘WOW of the Month’ in her first three months.

We’d like you to get to know her a little better.  So, without further ado, let’s bring her into the spotlight.

Hi Jade! It’s a pleasure to have you here. Why don’t you start by telling us about your role, and how you got there?

I joined Jane Smith Financial Planning in January 2022 as a Trainee Client Services Administrator, with over four years of administrative experience from a range of industries including accountancy and education.

And what drew you to Jane Smith FP?

When I was invited into the office for my interview, all the team were very friendly and professional. I like that the office is local to my home, so there isn’t a long commute to work in the mornings and evenings. I am a dog lover – so the fact that there are office dogs is great!

Poppy and Bertha really do give the office that extra personal touch, don’t they?

What keeps you smiling at work every day?

Friendly, helpful and easily approachable team members.

What are you saving for, Jade?

I currently still live at home with my parents.  However, I am looking to move out in the near future. I would definitely say that I am a very sensible saver – quite a lot of my family members and friends would tell you this too.  But, I still make sure I enjoy myself, whether that’s travelling around the world, going to the theatre or concerts. As the saying goes, you only live once!

Indeed we do, and we’re glad that you already recognise the importance of having the balance between living your life in the moment and planning for the future. That’s what we encourage our clients to do!

What keeps you busy when you’re not working?

In my spare time, I generally socialise with my family or friends, whether that’s going on countryside walks, visiting the theatre, attending concerts, day trips in the UK or travelling around the world! I can’t forget the most important and exciting activity of mine – baking for fun, family or friends. I love experimenting with different flavours and creations and the team at Jane Smith love my bakes, which is a bonus!

Let’s get reflective as we reach the end of our spotlight interview. If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Don’t worry yourself too much, you can only do your best – have confidence in yourself, don’t give up on the first hurdle!

Sage wisdom there! What are the goals you are working towards now?

I haven’t worked in the financial services industry before.  Therefore, to help me widen my knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry, I will be enrolling on the Level 3 Financial Services Administrator Apprenticeship from March 2022.

We love to see our team expanding their knowledge. Thank you for letting us quiz you, Jade!
